NetSuite Blog - July 11, 2024 - Troubleshooting NetSuite Vendor CSV Import Price List File Type Issue

NetSuite Vendor Price List Import Error

Problem:

I encountered errors while updating vendor item costs through the NetSuite interface using a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file. This method previously worked flawlessly with UTF-8 encoded CSV files. However, recent attempts resulted in errors specifically on the first row.  Note there is no header row in this case.

Details:

Error Occurrence: The issue appears to be recent, as historical updates using the same method were successful.

File Format: The problematic CSV files were created by saving them from Excel with UTF-8 encoding.

NetSuite Documentation: No official documentation regarding this specific CSV UTF-8 file type issue was found.

Solution:

The solution involves switching the CSV file type used for import. Using a non-UTF-8 encoded CSV file, as pictured below highlighted yellow, successfully resolved the import error.
