NetSuite Blog - July 16, 2024 - NetSuite Role Location Default Behavior When Bulk Processing Manufacturing Records

When a user with a location-restricted role accesses the "Enter Completions" screen (as well as "Close Work Orders" and "Print Manufacturing Dispatch List"), the location field defaults to the user's location. This behavior is expected based on the role settings, in this case none - default to own.

However, the current system functionality prevents the default location from automatically updating the record itself. This requires users to:

• Clear the pre-filled location field

• Submit the record

• Reset the location field to the desired value

NetSuite has confirmed this is a system limitation. The location field on these screens functions for filtering purposes and does not dynamically update the record upon initial access.
